Gang injures and threatens have-a-go-hero with knife

A BRAVE resident who foiled a burglary was threatened with a knife and had rocks thrown at him by the gang of burglars.

The 52-year-old man heard noises coming from Piper’s Car Sales in Northgate, Tickhill, last Thursday (June 16) at around 2.25am and went to investigate.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said he saw three unknown men trying to force entry to the building which is near to the man’s home.

She added: “The men are understood to have ran away when they saw the 52-year-old, but then threw rocks towards him causing an injury to his shoulder.

“A fourth member of the group is then alleged to have threatened the man with a knife, before they left the scene in what is believed to be a grey Ford Focus.”

Police in Doncaster are keen to hear from you if you heard loud banging or saw suspicious activity in Northgate, Tickhill, in the early hours of June 16.
