Four men charged with blackmail

POLICE have charged four Mexborough men with blackmail and witness intimidation.

Luke Blakemore (22), of Laburnum Road, and John Gilliver (27), Joshua Roddis (21) and Sean Chamberlain (29), all of Schofield Street, appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with blackmail.

John Gilliver was also charged with witness intimidation.

The charges relate to the alleged theft of a Land Rover in the York Street area of Mexborough on September 10.

The men have been remanded in police custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on October 2.
