Four held over betting shop raids

FOUR suspects are in police custody in connection with a number of armed robberies on Rotherham area bookmakers.

Firearms and drugs including MCAT, amphetamines and 95 cannabis plants plus cash have been recovered by police.

A 25-year-old man from Kimberworth was arrested on conspiracy to commit robbery, possession with intent to supply base amphetamine, MCAT and cannabis and possession of a firearm.

A 24-year-old man from Wales was detained for conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

Two others — a 20-year-old man from Wentworth and a boy of 16 from Wales — were held for conspiracy to commit robbery.

A police spokeswoman confirmed all four were in custody pending further enquiries.
