He also admitted to a further burglary in Sheffield last June where he also left empty handed.

Roberts, of Ravenscroft Crescent, Stradbroke, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on May 6 charged with the four burglaries and pleaded guilty to the crimes.

He was sentenced on May 27 to five years in prison.

Detective Constable Patrick Allerton investigating said: “Burglary is an incredibly intrusive and distressing crime and Cohen gave no thought or consideration to his victims when he forced entry to their homes.

“He will have plenty of time to think about his inconsiderate and selfish actions now he is behind bars, and I hope it sends a clear message out to those who choose to commit crime that it will not be tolerated.”
