Five fire engines tackle Barbot Hall blaze

AROUND 20 firefighters tackled a factory blaze at Barbot Hall Industrial Estate.

Four engines and one aerial platform attended the fire at JGW Coatings at around 12.40pm today.

Firefighters marked a cordon around the site, closing Mangham Road in both directions to all but access traffic.

A fire service spokesman said that crews had been unable to contact the building’s owner as they were busy putting out the fire, the cause of which is currently unclear.

Two engines attended from Dearne fire station, along with one from Darnall and one from Rotherham.
