Fire crews called to garden blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a large amount of garden rubbish on fire in Swinton.

Crews attended Rawms Lane shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday and were there more than an hour.

The cause of the fire was unknown, a fire service spokeswoman said.

Firefighters were also called to another fire in the open at Eagle View in Aston at about 9.30pm on Sunday. It was recorded as a deliberate fire.

And three fire engines attended Weetwood Road in Moorgate at 6.25am on Monday because an electric kettle had been left on the hob.

The crews were there for about an hour and the cause was recorded as accidental.
