Fire crews called to flat blaze

A WOMAN was treated for the effects of breathing smoke after a grill fire at her ground floor flat.

Firefighters were called to Sopewell Road, Kimberworth, at 12.30pm on Saturday.

Crews attended Hunger Hill Lane in Whiston after a garden fire spread to conifers.

They were there for nearly an hour after being called out at 10.30pm on Sunday.

Firefighters also attended a van fire on Albion Drive, Thurnscoe, on Sunday night, a Peugeot 206 on fire at Cheetham Drive in Maltby on Saturday morning and a BMW at Rotherwood Crescent, Thurcroft, on Saturday night.

Crews were also called out to a settee and rubbish on fire on Park Street at Wombwell on Sunday evening.
