Fire crews called to Aston and M1 crashes

FIREFIGHTERS attended two serious road crashes over the weekend.

Three crews from Aston, Rotherham and Tankersley attended a three-car smash on the M1, which trapped one woman in her vehicle.

They arrived at the scene between junctions 31 and 32 northbound at around 9pm yesterday, leaving around 40 minutes later.

Two crews from Aston and Maltby stations attended another crash on Ryton Road, Aston on Saturday afternoon.

One woman was trapped in a vehicle during the smash.

Firefighters arrived at around 4.30pm, leaving the scene around one hour later.

A fire service spokeswoman could not confirm whether crews had to cut crash victims from their vehicles.
