E-fit of woodland lurker who girl (14) escaped

DETECTIVES have released an e-fit of a man who followed a teenage girl through woodlands.

The girl (14) was walking through woodlands near to Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, heading towards Burcroft Hill to meet friends, at 9.15pm on Friday, November 20, a police spokeswoman said.

“The 14-year-old is understood to have seen an unknown man who appeared to be hiding behind a tree," she said.

“She carried on walking but the man is believed to have followed her, before grabbing the hood of her coat and pulling her backwards.

“The 14-year-old was able to release herself and ran away from the man, hiding in the woodland for a period of time before returning home and calling police. She was not injured.”

Officers worked with the teenager to produce an e-fit (pictured) of the suspect and are keen to hear from anyone who might recognise him.
