Driver charged with Class A drug offences after car stopped by police
A MOTORIST has appeared in court charged with drug offences after police stopped his car and found 5kg of suspected Class A drugs.
Shane Richards (34) of Middle Meadow in Shireoaks, Nottinghamshire, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Richards was stopped by roads policing officers on Doncaster Road in Cathill - between Darfield and Thurnscoe - last Friday at around 4.50pm.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered 5kg of suspected Class A drugs.
Richards was remanded into custody until his next appearance before Sheffield Crown Court on July 10.
