Doorstep murder victim "was loved by so many"

THE family of a 42-year-old man gunned down on his own doorstep have released an emotional statement.

Delivery driver Tyron Woodhead, of Doncaster Road in Wath, was shot in the chest when he answered his front door on September 27.

He died on Thursday, October 25 after a one-month battle with his injuries in hospital.

His wife, Gill Woodhead, said: “As a family we are devastated by Tyron's death. He was so strong and loved by many people.

“We cannot believe what has happened and our family will never be the same again. He was a great husband and dad to Shannon.

"His parents Jim and Jen miss him so very much.

“Our many friends and family have rallied round and helped us through this very difficult time. Thanks to all.”

Police are now treating the death as a murder investigation and have previously arrested two men.
