Dog walkers’ fight leaves one with broken nose

TWO dog walkers became involved in an altercation which left one man with a broken nose and the other with leg injuries.

Police are appealing to a cyclist who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward to assist with their investigation.

The men were walking next to the Three Horses pub, Wickersley, at around 7.20am on Wednesday, October 12.

One of the men was walking a dachshund and the other was walking a husky and a King Charles spaniel.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The dog walkers became involved in an altercation with each other after it has been reported the dachshund attacked the husky and the owners tried to break them up.”

One walker, aged 47, suffered a broken nose and the other man, aged 64, suffered bruising to his leg, the spokeswoman added.

The men have reported each other for assault and police believe a cyclist witnessed the incident and are urging them to come forward.
