Dog rescued from house fire

A DOG had to be rescued from a family home after a fire which started in an outside bin spread to the property.

The blaze started at around 7.25pm last night at Arnold Crescent in Mexborough outside the semi-detached house.

Two crews from Dearne station and one from Edlington attended the scene.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said no one was inside the house at the time if the blaze but firefighters went inside to rescue a dog.

Crews were at the scene for an hour.

The fire was under investigation this morning.
