Doctor rapped over computer porn in surgery

Dr Venkata Sastry Viswanadham, of New Surgery, on Adwick Road was handed the five-year warning by the General Medical Council back in December 2011.

A spokesman for the GMC said: “Between May and June 2011 he misused the surgery’s computer equipment to access adult pornographic material.

“This conduct does not meet with the standards required of a doctor. It risks bringing the profession into disrepute and it must not be repeated.”

The spokesman said the behaviour affected patient and public trust in the profession.

He added: “While this failing in itself is not so serious as to require any restriction on his registration, it is necessary in response to issue this formal warning.”
