The crews had to allow the cylinders to cool down and left the scene at 4.30am. No one was injured.

The spokeswoman added: “The incident is under investigation but it is believed to be an accidental fire.”

Garden waste and a mattress were deliberately set on fire on Tuesday at 8.05pm on Cavendish Road, Holmes.

Rotherham station attended the scene for around 20 minutes.

Later in the evening at 11.55pm a car was found alight in a field on Bassingthorpe Lane, Munsbrough.
