Crews tackle deliberate scrubland fire in Maltby

FIREFIGHTERS spent more than half an hour tackling a deliberate fire involving scrubland last night.

Maltby crews were called out to the blaze at 8.10pm on Blyth Road and left the scene at 8.45pm.

The incident follows calls on social media earlier in the week from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue appealing for information about “deliberate fire-setting across South Yorkshire” and encouraging people to “help us bring arsonists to justice”.
