Crew tackles Swinton rubbish fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Cudworth station attended a rubbish fire on Charnwood Street, Swinton at around 7.50pm yesterday.

One crew used water backpacks to put out the burning rubbish, which is thought to have been set alight deliberately. They left the scene at around 8.40pm.

Crews were called to Clarence Place, Maltby at 11.50pm to tackle a burning Mercedes car parked in a driveway.

Staff from Maltby and Edlington stations put out the blaze, which is thought to have been started deliberately.

They left the scene of the fire at around 1.15am today. No injuries were reported.
