Crew rescues man from River Don
FIREFIGHTERS attending a van fire rescued a man who ran from the scene and jumped in the River Don.
Crews were called to the blaze on Effingham Street at about 12.30am on Sunday after a removals vehicle was torched.
A fire service spokesman said: “A man was seen running away from the incident, jumped into the river but was stranded had to be helped out by firefighters and police.”
