Court hearing for Darfield man after burns attack

A WOMAN who suffered extensive burn injuries remains in a serious condition in hospital after an incident in Darfield.

Police were called to a property in Primrose Avenue at around 6.20pm on Monday where they discovered the injured 51-year-old.

The burns victim was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where she is still being treated.

A 46-year-old man,  of Primrose Avenue, is set to appear before Barnsley Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with wounding.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Tuesday and was taken into custody for questioning.
