Couple rescued from home by firefighters

TWO people had to be rescued from a house after smoke from a burning garage and caravan got into the property.

Fire officers had to enter the house to rescue the two people on New Street in Darfield early on Sunday morning.

Two fire engines were called to the blaze at 2.30am.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire Service said that the two people, believed to be a couple, were rescued from the property after being trapped by the smoke.
