Police now believe Joshua boarded the train at Chapeltown in Sheffield before travelling north to Leeds yesterday evening.

Officers are working with colleagues in West Yorkshire to find Joshua and return him safely to his home in Rotherham.

Superintendent Paul McCurry said: “With the public’s help we are piecing together Joshua’s movements and the information we are continuing to receive has been really helpful.

“What we need now is for people that work, commute or live in central Leeds to keep their eyes open for Joshua and if they recognise him to let the police know.

“It’s possible that Joshua still believes he’s in trouble which I can reassure him that he’s not and we, along with his family, just want to bring home safely.

“Because Joshua may believe he is in some sort of trouble I would ask people not to approach him but to monitor his movements and inform the police.

“We also believe that Joshua has been approaching people and asking for money and I would ask anyone who has been spoken to by Joshua to come forward and speak to us.

“The latest CCTV footage shows that Joshua is wearing a grey coloured Hollister hoodie type of top, a white shirt and his dark coloured school trousers. He is also carrying a distinctive red coloured backpack."
