Burglars trash four pub bandits

FOUR fruit machines were ransacked at a pub in the early hours of the morning by burglars.

The break-in was carried out at the Church House pub in Wath on September 1.

The burglars gained entry by breaking a front bay window of the Wetherspoon pub, said spokesman Eddie Gershon.

Mr Gershon said the pub’s smoke cloak security fog system, which fills a room with a thick cloud of fog, had been detonated and four bandit machines had been ransacked.

No stock was stolen from the pub, he added, but an unknown amount of money from the machines.

Mr Gershon added: "The burglary is obviously upsetting for staff.

“However, the fact that no one was injured as a result of the burglary is the most important factor.

“Fortunately incidents like this are rare at the pub.

"We will work closely with the police in order to bring the burglars to justice."
