Bomb hoax at call centre

EMERGENCY services were called to a call centre after a caller said there was a bomb in the building.

Police were called to the Department for Social Security office, Callflex Business Park, Manvers, at around 10.45am this morning (Wednesday) following the call.

The caller claimed there was a bomb on the premises and emergency services were called to the office.

But Insp Abdul Aziz, of South Yorkshire Police, said a police investigation found it to be hoax and enquiries are ongoing to locate the caller.

Insp Aziz said: “Calls of this nature will not be tolerated, are dangerous and are a waste of police resources.

“We will be taking action to locate and prosecute the caller.”
