Biker seriously hurt in Wath crash

A DRIVER was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a crash which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Police appealed for witnesses following the incident on Manvers way, Wath, last night.

A red Ford Fiesta turned into the road from Cawood Drive and collided with a motorbike at about 11.20pm.

The motorcyclist — a man in his 20s, — was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and has been released under investigation.”

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage are urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 867 on January 9.
