Ban for drink-driving Rotherham police officer

A Rotherham police officer has been fined and banned from the roads for a year after admitting drink driving,

PC Adam Walker, a serving traffic officer, pleaded guilty to the offence at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

He now faces a disciplinary hearing after being caught over the limit on his way to work on December 27.

The 33-year-old was given a £475 fine, £85 costs and a £47 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He will be able to reduce the ban to nine months if he participates in a drink-drive rehabilitation programme.

PC Walker, who was  off duty at the time of the offence, has been suspended from his role at South Yorkshire Police.
