Attempted murder charge over newsagents "robbery"

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder and robbery following an incident at a town centre newsagent’s which left one of the owners in a critical condition in hospital.

Storm Blueitt, of Cambridge Crescent, East Dene, was arrested after the alleged robbery at Wellgate News in Wellgate on Thursday.

The 64-year-old co-owner, Judith Ducker, suffered a head injury and police said she was still in Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital “in a critical but stable condition”.

Blueitt (36) appeared before magistrates in Rotherham on Monday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on October 3.
