Armed robbers target town Post Office

POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in the Rother Valley South.

Officers were called to the Post Office, Rotherham Road, in Maltby, at around 10.20am today (Thursday, October 2) following reports of an attempted robbery.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Two men allegedly entered the Post Office in possession of a suspected shotgun.

“Nothing was stolen and no one was injured during the incident.

“The men are believed to have left in a van.”

The Post Office remained open on Thursday and a staff member told the Advertiser that “everything was fine now”, but one member of staff had gone home.
