Appeal over ‘stabbed’ man at Eastwood

OFFICERS appealed for information after a man was apparently stabbed in the face yesterday afternoon (Monday).

A member of the public called police at about 4.30pm to say a man had approached them on Hatherley Road, Eastwood, with facial injuries consistent with a stabbing.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It is believed the victim – a man aged in his 30s – had received his injuries elsewhere before making his own way to Hatherley Road.

“He was transported to hospital where he remains at this time receiving treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries to determine exactly what happened and where he received his injuries.”
