51-year-old woman dies after head-on car collision

A 51-YEAR-OLD driver died at the scene after a head-on car collision in Thurcroft last night.

A second driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the reported collision between a black Vauxhall Corsa and a black Volkswagen Caddy van in Kingsforth Lane just before 10pm.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The driver of the Corsa, a 51-year-old woman, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family is being supported by specially trained officers.

“The driver of the Caddy, a man aged 44, was taken to hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

“Officers now want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see what happened? Do you think you may have CCTV or dashcam footage?”
