Councillors give football team a welcome boost
THIS young football team is looking a lot more stylish, thanks to two Rotherham borough councillors.
Cllrs Simon Tweed and Jeanette Mallinder have sponsored the Dinnington under-15 team and forked out £351 on a new strip.
Cllr Mallinder said: “We see this as a positive move to encourage younger people to keep fit.”
The cash comes for the council’s Leadership Fund.
Cllr Mallinder said that prior to getting the strip the youngsters had been playing in their jumpers and everyday wear.
She said that there are hopes to buy an away strip for the team in the future.
