Consultation over Maltby Post Office plans

A SIX-week consultation has been launched over whether to move Maltby’s main post office 100 yards up the road.

The Post Office is proposing to relocate the Rotherham Road branch to a new spot where it will open as a new open-plan branch within The Kabin shop.

The proposed new location is 95 metres from the current post office.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open from 6am to 10.30pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 10.30pm on Sunday.

Adrian Wales, regional Manager said: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
