Community projects benefit from Thurcroft Big Local grants

TODDLERS, youngsters and the elderly will all benefit from the latest set of grants handed out by Thurcroft Big Local Partnership.

The fund — which is part of village’s Big Local Plan — aims to support projects which promote community pride, regenerate the village or work with children.

Thurcroft Youth Session received £200 for sports and dance sessions, Thurcroft Youth Group was given the same amount for its summer playscheme.

Tots at the village’s toddler group will be going on a visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park while Little Saints Toddler Group will be able to visit Sundown Adventure Park.

The village’s Friday Club received £150 for art materials and a laminator while Thurcroft Tony Simmonds, a member of the grant’s panel, said: “Though consisting of small amounts of money, these small grants help community groups and volunteers make a big difference to Thurcroft village life.”
