ONE of the biggest pop bands of the sixties are heading for Rotherham’s Civic Theatre.

Herman’s Hermits have sold 75 million records since they started out in Manchester in 1964 and are still going strong .  . . even though frontman Peter Noone left to pursue a solo career in 1971.

Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business.

They still average more than 200 one night gigs a year in Germany, Belgium, Holland, the Scandinavian countries, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

They will be at Rotherham’s Civic Theatre on February 4.
