Rotherham's Christmas illuminations were switched on last night at a town centre ceremony featuring The Voice contestants Karl Michael and Emma Jade Garbutt, both of whom have a Christmas message for the town.

X Factor contestants Diva Fever also sang for the crowd of thousands and the cast of Rotherham's Christmas panto put in an appearance.
