Christine up for top property award

A ROTHERHAM landlady is in the running for a regional award celebrating women working in the housing market.

Christine Jones has been shortlisted for the National Landlords' Association Property Women Awards.

The awards are designed to reward the achievements of dedicated women in the private-rented sector.

Mrs Jones has properties in some of the most deprived areas of the Rotherham borough. she was nominated for her commitment to understanding her tenants’ needs and providing them with a high standard of private rented accommodation.

To help improve the local area Christine has become a pro-active contributor to local landlord forums, as well as being a member of the Rotherham and District Residential Landlord Association.

Entries are judged on their property portfolio, financial success and personal achievements in the sector.

NLA chairman David Salusbury said: “We have received some outstanding nominations which is even more remarkable when you consider how turbulent the market has been.

“The fact that all these women have still prospered is testament to their hard work and dedication. This year's awards promise to be the most competitive yet.”

The winner of the north-west regional will go on to the national final in London on June 24.
