Body found in hunt for missing student

Investigators had been searching for Jonathan Law, who was last seen at the Bridge Bar on Rowms Lane, Swinton, at around midnight on Saturday .

But this morning South Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had called off the search JOnathan after a body was discovered in the Swinton area last night.

Officers had been seen searching the area adjacent to the canal, off Station Street, Swinton, yesterday  morning.

An appeal issued to help locate Jonathan yesterday said that his disappearance was “totally out of character.”
