Blaze in bedroom of terraced home

A FIRE broke out at a house last night and arsonists struck elsewhere in the early hours of the morning.

The house fire occurred in the bedroom of a terraced property on Goosebutt Court, Parkgate at 7.45pm.

Two crews from Rotherham and one from Dearne station attended the scene.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it was believed to have been started accidentally by smoking material and there were no injuries.

Crews left the home at 9.50pm and the fire was still under investigation.

Arsonists struck this morning in Maltby on Woodlands Green at 1.30pm.

A crew from the local station were called to the skip blaze which was well alight.
