Beer buffs heading for Magna

THOUSANDS of beer and entertainment lovers are expected to flock to the Magna science centre tonight as the Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival gets underway.

More than 200 ales, wines and ciders will be on offer as the festival reaches its 20th birthday with a four-day party at the former steelworks in Templeborough.

Organisers hope that the anniversary event, which has prompted the brewing of a super-strength 16 per cent ale.

Advertiser reporter Dave Doyle was given a sneak preview of the ales on offer yesterday when he joined the judging panel in charge of deciding the beer of the festival.
