Arson attacks, caravan and house blaze tackled by fire service

A CARAVAN was left gutted after a fire broke out which left a woman needing medical treatment in one of two similar incidents on the same night.

The incident occurred on Holmes Road, Bramley at 11.30pm on Monday night and was well alight when crews from Aston and Maltby station arrived.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “One woman was treated for smoke inhalation and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.”

Crews left the scene at 12.35am.

Yesterday, we reported that arsonists torched a caravan on Northfield Lane, Wickersley, at around 4.30am on Tuesday.

There were also two other arson attacks overnight on Tuesday, as well as a house fire.

A pile of wood was deliberately set on fire on Fenton Road in Kimberworth Park.

Rotherham station was at the scene for 20 minutes.

Arsonists struck again on Braithwell Road, Maltby, where a pile of rubbish was set on fire at 8.25pm.

A blaze also broke out in a garden of a property on Cavendish Road, Holmes, which spread to the kitchen.

Two crews from Rotherham station arrived at the scene at 8.15pm and left at 10pm.

No-one was in the property at the time and the cause is still under investigation.
