Appeal after fatal crash
A 63-year-old man died this morning after his car left the road, mounted a grass verge and ended up in a ditch.
His purple Citroen C5 was travelling toward Wentworth on Hoober Lane shortly before 6.40am on Thursday (7).
The driver, from Barnsley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not believe any other vehicle was involved.
Officer have appealed for anyone driving in the area prior to the crash to call the witness helpline on 0114 220 2970.
