All aboard for Rotherham beer festival

REVELLERS will be all aboard the Beer Bus next week as celebrations get under way for the 21st annual Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival.

The festival takes place at Magna from next Wednesday to Saturday, showcasing traditional ales, fine wines, ciders and beers from across the world.

And festival-goers need not worry about getting there and back as transport bosses have laid on a special beer bus — First service BF1 — to get them to and from the event.

The bus will run throughout the festival from early evening until after last orders, between stand C2 at Rotherham Interchange and C3 at Meadowhall Interchange, with tickets priced at £2 return.

SYPTE Director of Customer Experience, David Young, said: “We are delighted to work together with Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival again to support the dedicated bus service to and from the event.

“It gives a real incentive for people to leave their cars at home and get to the festival easily, cheaply and in a way that's better for the environment. “We hope that it will encourage people to use public transport for the other journeys that they make.”
