Three held in scrapyard raid.

POLICE swooped on a Rotherham scrapyard this morning and arresting three men suspected of buying stolen metals.

The 9am raid on the yard near Rotherham town centre was part of a county-wide operation involving over 400 police and partner agency staff to expose scrap merchants dealing in stolen cables, railway track, beer kegs and vehicles.

Officers also searched for cash and other proceeds of criminal activity.
