Rotherham's hackney carriage fares are rising
HACKNEY carriage fares are going up by 6.7 per cent for the first mile and 13 per cent for each one after.
The initial charge is rising from £4.50 to £4.80. Extra miles will cost £1.70 – up from £1.50.
RMBC cabinet member Cllr Denise Lelliott said the changes – subject to two weeks’ consultation – took account of the fuel, insurance and cost of living expenses faced by cabbies.
