New nail bar in Rotherham town centre to create job opportunities

PLANS for a nail bar creating eight jobs in a former bookshop in Rotherham town centre have been given the green light.

Jozef Dzuga applied for change of use permission for the Effingham Street unit last home to The Works.

Rotherham Council approved the proposals, noting that the number of regular retail shops in the town centre would remain above its 65 per cent threshold.

The authority also noted recent appeal decisions which classed nail bars as similar to “hairdresser type use” — complimentary to modern town centres.
