Twelve more grants for Thurcroft groups

GRANTS totalling £1,420 were approved in the tenth round of funding under Thurcroft Big Local.

Among the 12 successful bids were Hotshots Junior Theatre, which received £200 for costumes, props and hall rental.

Thurcroft Welfare Brass Band was given the same amount for instrument repairs and Thurcroft Youth Club received £180 for room dividers, allowing youngsters more privacy for chats.

Grants panel member Tony Simmonds said: “Though small amounts of money, these grants help community groups and volunteers make a big difference to Thurcroft life.”

The Big Local partnership, supported by the Big Lottery Fund, promotes community pride, regeneration and young people.
