Rotherham man wanted in connection with seaside shop scam

A WANTED man is being hunted over two fraud offences known as “ringing the changes” at shops.

Rotherham man Radu Gustea (34), also known as Radu Rostas and Radu Anghel, is being sought by North Yorkshire Police over incidents at shops in Northallerton and Scarborough earlier this year.

Police want to speak to him about two fraud incidents known as “ringing the changes”. This is where a suspect tries to confuse shop staff and uses sleight of hand to defraud the shop during cash transactions or deposits.

Officers have made numerous enquiries to locate Gustea (pictured, above) and are now asking for the public’s assistance to help trace him.

He has connections in South Yorkshire, links to the wider Yorkshire region and Northumbria.
