The delights of afternoon tea in the Dearne

A DEARNE library will offer an alternative treat to those opting not to diet in the new year — an afternoon talk on the delights of afternoon tea.

Edlington Library will host the event from 2pm to 4pm on January 13, which is titled The History of Afternoon Tea and will discuss all the characters and rules involved which helped to make afternoon tea so popular.

And after the listeners’ appetites are whetted, there will be refreshments in the form of tea and scones.

Tickets priced £4 are available from Edlington Library.

The library also hosts a pre-school story time for little ones from 10.30am to 11am on Mondays and regular coffee mornings on the first Friday of the month.

Ex-Forces members are welcome to attend regular community drop-in sessions, with the next falling on Tuesday, December 22 from 10am to noon.
