Frecklington buoyed by Millers cup win

MILLERS ace Lee Frecklington wants last night's Capital One Cup win over Cambridge United to be a springboard to better things.

Rotherham bounced back from Saturday's 4-1 Championship humbling by MK Dons to beat the U's 1-0 at the AESSEAL New York Stadium with a goal from Jordan Bowery.

It puts them into tomorrow's second-round draw and has lifted the mood in the camp in the lead-up to this weekend's league trip to Nottingham Forest.

Frecklington, who played the full 90 minutes, said: "I don't think we could have had a worst start on Saturday, everyone left really disappointed and all we could do was try and come out and get a victory.

"The Capital One Cup was an opportunity to get out on the pitch and put things right again and although it wasn't our best performance — we were sloppy at times and made it difficult for ourselves— we won.

"Victories bring confidence so it will do us a lot of good going into another tough match."
