Biggest test to come, says Evans

AS warm-up matches go, there can't have been many bigger ones to complete the build-up to a Millers season.

And manager Steve Evans reckons tomorrow's clash with German top-flighters FSV Mainz at the AESSEAL New York Stadium is the biggest pre-season test a Rotherham side has faced.

“It shows the stature of our club when we’re playing sides like Mainz,” he said.

“You only have to look at the quality of players they have and it shows what a big game it is for us. It should be a great test ahead of the first Championship game.”

The Mainz squad includes Japanese forward Yoshinori Muto, who joined this summer in a reported £2 million deal from FC Tokyo.

Kick off is 3pm and fans can pay on the day.
