Join the Interfaith Group

DURING Interfaith Week (November 17-23, we wish to remind your readers of Rotherham Interfaith Group: a small gathering who meet at The Unity Centre, St Leonard’s Road, Rotherham, S65 1PD.

The aim of the group is to foster understanding and tolerance between peoples of different faiths or in some cases people with no faith at all.

The meetings are on the third Monday each month at 4.30pm and have different topics chosen by members.

During the summer months some of the more enthusiastic gardeners spend an hour or so working together in the garden in front of the centre.

The group attracted over a dozen people at the start, but over the years this has been dwindling, which is a pity.

Above all the group is about compassion and respect, and has no political or religious affiliations.

The Interfaith Group could be one of many tools to move Rotherham on in these difficult times.

At our next meeting on December 15 we plan to take part in Amnesty International’s annual greetings card campaign ‘Write for Rights’

Join us: give it a go! If afternoons are a bad time for potential supporters then future meetings could be moved to evenings.
